Product Purpose
Clause 4.1 of the Standards for RTOs 2015 outlines a range of requirements that must be met by RTOs when advertising to prospective students and to the public in general. While this clause can be presented as a ‘list’ to check-off against marketing material, the requirements are more far reaching in terms of information that needs to be provided, and how that can be provided.
The website of an RTO is often the main form of marketing for the organisation, and therefore subject to the requirements listed in Standard 4, along with other components of the Standards. This includes the use of logos, identification of the RTO, complaints and appeals information and collection of payments. It is often a complex web of pages where updates are easily missed and given this is the public-facing information of the RTO it needs to be accurate and compliant.
