Validation Register (Template)
This Validation Register is presented as a spreadsheet [.xlsx] with multiple worksheets and provides a central location to capture all validation planning and recording that occurs in alignment with compliance requirements.

The worksheets within this template provide a structure and starting point for an RTO to ensure adequate systems and activities are in place for the plan and evidence of activities, streamlining the maintenance of validation record keeping.
Product Purpose
Clause 1.9 of the Standards for RTOs 2015 states that RTOs must implement a plan for ongoing systematic validation of assessment practices and judgements for training products that are on the RTO’s scope of registration. A range of mandatory information must be included in this plan along with items that will ensure the RTO has an opportunity to make improvements to the assessment practices and processes. The Standards go on to include information about when validation must occur and who can be involved in Clauses 1.10 and 1.11.
The challenge for RTOs is managing the documentation and evidence associated with these validation activities, and ensuring the right actions are taken to improve outcomes (a major purpose of validation).
