Co-Assessment (Template)

$55.00

The Standards for RTOs 2015 require that assessment be conducted by a person or team of people who meet a range of requirements, including vocational competence, currency and TAE credentials.

At times, this is achieved through a team conducting assessment rather than an individual assessor. When this occurs, the roles and responsibilities of each person involved in the assessment process needs to be clear. Therefore, it is recommended that a clear procedure is established, evidence of competence and currency captured for each party, and the arrangement is explicitly documented.

A common combination of people involved in this assessment arrangement is:

  1. TAE credentialed assessor with current VET knowledge and skills; and

  2. Vocationally competent and current industry supervisor.

It should be noted that the industry supervisor must be able to demonstrate vocational competence by holding the units being undertaken or demonstrating equivalence to these. They are not simply a supervisor in the workplace but must show how they are qualified to participate in the assessment process. As a co-assessor, they must also be in communication with the assessor to contribute to the assessment process.

This product provides the following documents to assist in the co-assessment process:

  1. Co-Assessment Procedure (.docx)

  2. Industry Supervisor Profile (.docx)

  3. Co-Assessment Matrix (.xlsx)

The documents are fully editable and customisable by the purchasing Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
